Matt Cockrell is an attorney licensed in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Oregon and Washington, with established nationwide experience in the areas of insurance recovery for policyholders, general litigation, and dispute resolution.
Mattew Cockrell & Associates, P.C. (the “Firm”) is a law firm uniquely positioned to seek insurance recoveries and other revenue sources for small and family-owned businesses, as well as governments and large companies, to pay for environmental liabilities, brownfields, general tort and toxic claims and so on. The Firm is different because most insurance coverage disputes in today’s environment can often be resolved without litigation. Accordingly, the Firm handles these and other disputes with a strong emphasis on amicable claims resolution, which translates to a less costly alternative to larger litigation firms.
The firm’s client base consists of corporate clients and cities, states and other governments. The firm does not strive to be a single source for all litigation needs. Rather, the Firm’s philosophy is that many of these disputes can be handled effectively without resort to layers of attorneys and consultants. This significantly reduces overhead, because unnecessary resources are not “built in” to any specific project.
All fees and costs are budgeted by the Firm and approved in advance in writing by the Client. All reasonable efforts are made to reduce our costs consistent, of course, with the performance of superior quality legal services.
Firm Policies
The Firm schedules regular client meetings as often as Client desires to provide the Client with status reports and strategies. While these typically are held by telephone, face-to-face or online meetings are also scheduled on a regular basis.
The Firm does not charge fees incurred for travel.
